Denee Barr Art News and More















































We had over 200 joyful people young and old in attendance. The program was clever, smart, entertainining, historical, cultural, enlightening, engaging, impromptu, planned, ad lib, all that and more============.
What a celebration!

The Howard County Center of African American Center museum is located at 5434 Vantage Point Road in Columbia, Maryland houses a collection of over 1,000 artifacts and murals representing African American life in rural Howard County in the early 1900s and memorabilia depicting images of African Americans over the last 200 years.

The museum’s collection includes:

■An art gallery displaying local African American artists

■An exhibit of replicas representing the inventions of African Americans... See More

■A music collection of vintage and contemporary recordings

■An exhibit highlighting African American leaders and families of Howard County

■An exhibit of images of African Americans on stamps and first day covers

■A pictorial mural of pre and post inaugural images of our 44th President, Barack Obama

■Audio visual collection of historical, temporary researched and related items

■An exhibit highlighting African Americans serving in the military along with related artifacts

■A collection of African American memorabilia depicting negative stereotypes


Children’s Library

The Children’s Library collection consists of over 200 books, objects and periodicals by and about African Americans.
