Denee Barr Art News and More



















A COLLECTING AFFAIR III: THE ART OF COLLECTING PHOTOGRAPHY
The Collectors photography exhibition is being held as part of the Columbia Festival of the Arts. The exhibit runs June 10-27, 2010 here in Columbia Art Center Galleries. There will be five women photographers featured in the show (Denee Barr is one of the exhibiting photographers with several photo-based artworks in this exhibit!). The show is the 3rd installment of the Collecting Affair series which is presented each June as part of Columbia Festival of the Arts and designed to promote art collecting in the community.

The reception and gallery talk will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 5:30-8pm in Columbia Art Center Galleries.


MISSION STATEMENT
The Columbia Art Center is dedicated to providing artistic experiences in the visual arts for all ages and interest levels and to join with local arts organizations and community businesses in creating diverse offerings.

OVERVIEW
The Columbia Art Center offers year-round art classes, rotating gallery exhibitions, a gallery gift shop, summer art camp for children, art birthday parties, studio rentals, a Japanese Garden, art and life enhancement lectures and more! The Columbia Art Center is part of Columbia Association’s Community Services Division. Under Columbia Association, the Art Center is 19 years old. It has been a functioning arts school for more than 30 years and was formerly known as the Antioch Visual Arts College.

LOCATION
The Columbia Art Center is located in the Long Reach Village Center (next to Stonehouse Community Center) just minutes from Route 175 and Tamar Drive in Columbia, Maryland.

DIRECTIONS
From Route 29, take 175 East towards Jessup. Follow 175 for several miles to the light at Tamar Drive. Turn left on Tamar and go one mile. Turn right on Cloudleap Court. Turn left into Long Reach Village Center parking lot. Art Center is located in the courtyard behind the Safeway entrance (look for large round window).
From I-95, take the MD 100 West exit (43B) towards Ellicott City. Take the Snowden River exit (3). Enter the roundabout and take the second exit onto Snowden River Parkway. Turn right on Tamar Drive and drive .5 miles. Turn left at Cloudleap Court. Park in the Long Reach Village Center lot on left. Art Center is located in courtyard beyond Safeway entrance (look for large round window).
