Howard County Library East Columbia Branch Presents! The Threads Of Time Author Rosemary E. Reed Miller discusses The Threads of Time, the Fabric of History: 38 Profiles of African American Designers and Dressmakers from 1850- present, particularly fascinating and little known facts about designers such as Ann Lowe, who was responsible for Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress; Elizabeth Keckley, creator of Mary Todd Lincoln's event wardrobe; and Zelda Wynn, who worked on the Dance Theatre of Harlem's costumes. Then, local fashion designer Sehar (Saharah) discusses her challenges and successes, followed by a show of her clothing line. A Meet the Author event. *Registration was required.
