Curated by Sigrid Trumpy – a longtime Annapolis resident, artist and curator - these 44 works of urban, rural and abstract landscapes reveal the diversity of artists living and working in our state. This ambitious project of the Maryland Sister States Program is slated to travel to Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The Maryland-Kanagawa, Japan Prefecture Sister State Art Exhibit is now on display at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center through Dec. 21. The dynamic, contemporary art exhibit features works by 43 Maryland artists and is titled "Landscape and Nature: A View From Maryland.” This touring exhibition is part of the cultural exchange program between Maryland and Kanagawa, Japan.


Reception: Monday, December 17th from 5-7:30pm

David Edgerly, Secretary of Maryland Department of Economic & Business Development will address guests at 6:00pm. The reception is being sponsored by the MD-Kanagawa Committee in cooperation with the St. Mary's County Arts Council and the Southern MD Higher Education Center.
