Denee Barr Art News and More



Howard County Arts Council was honored to present over $300,000 worth of grants to this years recipients!







The Grant Awards were announced at the Arts Council’s annual meeting and reception at the Howard County Center for the Arts on September 11, 2009. These matching grants will be used by 16 Howard County organizations; 10 Howard County public schools; and 11 key Baltimore City organizations to support general operations, artist residencies, and special projects in the arts.





FY10 Mark Ryder Original Choreography
Grantee: Donna Jacobs
Since coming to Baltimore, Donna Jacobs has performed with several local companies. Ms. Jacobs is the director of the Morton Street Dance Center and has over 30 years of teaching, choreography, and production experience. Her choreography has been featured in the Broadway Dance Center's "Best of Choreographers' Showcase". She has been inducted in the Daily Record's Maryland "Circle of Excellence" for her professional accomplishments, having been named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women three times. Ms. Jacobs is a Senior Vice President at the University of Maryland Medical System.
