1400 Frederick Road

Feature:
The show highlights line as language, and line as art.
The centerpiece of three illustrated poems represents a nearly spontaneous collaboration by writer Kay Weeks, who lives in Historic Ellicott City, and Brooklyn, New York artist, Hiroshi Kimura. With the exception of Mr. Kimura, the artists featured are women. They live in Catonsville, Columbia, Ellicott City, Washington DC, New York, and Seattle and include Denee Barr, Rachel Coleman, Kim Parr, Rebecca Weber, Margaret Scott, Roxie Munro, Doreen Starling, Lora Robertson, Kathy Taylor, and Virginia Bates.
Still another form of the line comes into play here: the timeline. The artists range in age from the 30s to the 80s with several stops in between, so the individual and collective experience is rich and varied. The connective tissue is spirit, honesty, power, and openness. Come expecting to be fully engaged.
