Greg Mort, one of America’s foremost contemporary painters, will present “The Art of Stewardship Project,” which explores our responsibility for the natural world, 7 p.m. Wednesday December 10 at the Columbia Art Center (located at the Long Reach Village Center in the courtyard).

Environmentalists, artists and interested persons are invited to the presentation and participate in a discussion about holding an Earth Day celebration in April. Admission is free.

The Art of Stewardship Project serves as a forum for artists, environmental and educational groups to explore creative ideas, alliances and partnerships which support the sustainability of the environment.

Greg Mort’s works have the classic feel of Dutch masters juxtaposed with modern design. His works are exhibited at the Smithsonian, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Delaware Art Museum, Academy Art Museum, Portland Museum of Art and Brandywine River Museum among others. Among his collectors are former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton and former Vice President Al Gore and Tipper Gore.

He has been selected as a NASA artist. His most recent book, “Voyages—Exploring the Art of Greg Mort” was released recently.
