At 8 p.m. guests will be invited inside the Smith and Studio Theatres for the Rising Star Performing Arts Competition and the presentation of the 2017 Howie Awards. Performances and awards are presented live in the Smith Theatre. The Aesthetics and Artistry of Hanbok Exhibit Reception and Seminar ~ Friday, Feb. 09, 2018, 7 pm at the MICA Lazarus Center (Seminar) Hanbok originated nearly 3,000 years ago, with today's traditional Hanbok style evolving from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). At the seminar, a professional Hanbok designer from South Korea will introduce and discuss various styles of Hanbok fashions. The next 2 days will feature a hands-on workshop with the fabrics, where the instructors will teach techniques involved in Hanbok design and fabrication.
